Mock inspections

Your dedicated consultant  will visit your service to carry out a full mock inspection.

You will need to have all key documents ready on the day so the consultant  can choose what to review, if their is anything missing - don't worry , the consultant will add anything missing to the action plan and support you to ensure compliance is met

Here's what we’ll do:

  • Interview the Registered Manager or main contact person

  • Speak with staff

  • Look at staff and service user files – including DOLS and medication records

  • Check staff supervision and appraisal records

  • Review staff training logs

  • Check logs for complaints and compliments

  • Review incident, accident, and safeguarding logs

  • Read policies and procedures

  • Review daily living records and night records for service users

  • Give feedback to management at the end of the visit

The inspection process can be announced to your team or kept unannounced to stimulate a normal inspection with CQC

Following on from the inspection, your consultant will write a full report based on the findings.

They will also:

  • Review your last CQC inspection report to understand past issues and see what improvements have been made

  • Provide clear, helpful feedback to support better outcomes

Access Needed

To carry out the mock inspection properly, we will need access to:

  • MAR charts (medication records)

  • Staff and service user files

The Registered Manager should be available so we can share early feedback before the full report is sent.
